Our Story

Books have always been more than paper and ink to us. They’re the catalyst for laughter, deep conversations, and unexpected friendships. As five busy moms in Wentzville, Missouri, we craved a space to unwind and connect, so we started a monthly book club! But it was never just about reading. We turned each gathering into an experience with themed food, props, games, and even surprise wrapped books for the holidays. Every meeting was full of laughter, creativity, and a little magic. Soon, friends were asking to join, eager to be part of the joy we’d built together. That’s when we knew it was bigger than our circle; we wanted to share that same wonder with readers everywhere.

And so, Kindred Rose Books was born: women-owned, mom-owned, and made to help every story bloom.

Meet the Team

Though our backgrounds range from teaching to business and beyond, we’re united by a love of stories and a belief in the power of connection. We’re the women you see in our photos; friends who laugh often, swap book recommendations daily, and now run a business together. We’re proud to be a small, diverse operation, and we personally wrap every surprise book and assemble every kit.

Chief Merchandising Officer

Vanessa Kackley

Vanessa brings creativity and heart to every detail at Kindred Rose; designing merch, wrapping surprise reads with care, and making sure each package feels magical. When she isn’t crafting your bookish treasures, she’s curled up with a good story, especially romance, dystopian adventures, fantasy worlds, and her favorite of all: dark romance.

Teah Kelly

Teah brings energy, heart, and a flair for fun to everything she does, from social media and partnerships to creative ways of sharing our mission. She loves building relationships, spreading the magic of stories (especially to kids) and finding joy in epic female journeys where love is complicated and survival is everything. Outside of Kindred Rose, she’s usually on a family adventure, cheering at her daughter’s events, or cranking up the music for a spontaneous dance party.

Kaci is the heart behind our book curation, hand-selecting titles, writing clue tags, and ensuring every collection reflects diverse voices and thoughtful content. A lifelong book lover with an eagle eye for detail, she thrives on finding gripping thrillers with strong female leads and weaving creativity into everything she does. Known as our pep-talk queen and connector, she brings energy, quick wit, and laughter to the team. When she’s not sourcing your next page-turner, you’ll find her traveling, snuggling her pets, or tackling her dissertation.

Amanda is the calm (and quirky) chaos coordinator who keeps us running smoothly. Handling everything from tech and Shopify to shipping, bookkeeping, and all the details in between. Known as our spreadsheet sorceress and efficiency queen, she blends logic with laughter to keep the magic moving behind the scenes. A romantasy reader at heart, she also loves thrillers and emotional slow burns; stories that balance heart, heat, and adventure. When she’s not immersed in Kindred Rose, she’s probably volunteering, fueled by coffee, checklists, and her love of helping others.
